During the first five years of the existence of the band known as Szabó Benedek and the Galaxies, they went from campfire generation to jingling guitar pop to piano-like dream ballads. Yet their untitled album released this year is an all-encompassing work that closes and opens doors. The ten songs written by the songwriter-singer last summer, out of sudden upheaval, include everything that the Galaxies could and could have been loved in different eras, and the last line of the last song summarizes the band’s oeuvre: “… and if I’m very sad, I’ll write an LP on which every track is a hit ”.
